Hello my name is kanaede. I live in Tokyo, Japan. I spent my summer vation in Hokkaido, 2019. This homepage introduces the charm of Hokkaido.
I drove from Tokyo to Ibaraki by car and took car ferry to Tomakomai-city, Hokkaido.
Hokkaido is a large island among the islands that make up Japan. In Hokkaido, nature remains undeveloped and agriculture and fisheries are thriving.

The ferry goes overnight. It was raining.

Cars are packed in.

We first stayed at a bungalow in a campsite called Tomakomai Alten. Since it was a weekday, there were no people staying at the campsite in tents.

We left Tomakomai Alten and had lunch at an Italian restaurant called “Regalo da JFarm”.
This restaurant uses vegetables from a farm run by a company called JFarm. It is listed in the Michelin Guide.
We had pastas, tomato sauce was particularly delicious. I thought that tomato jam was used for the hidden taste.

We went to Mitsuishi Beach this day. Hokkaido has a lot of nature unlike other areas in Japan.

We stayed at a bungalow in Mitsuishi Campsite. This day was a weekday, so we were the only ones here.

We spent the day relaxing in the bungalows facing the Pacific Ocean. Taking a nap is also fun. I lay down in a hammock and looked up at the sky from there, calmed down and wanted to stay here.

For dinner, we went to a sushi restaurant in a neighboring town known for horse breeding, Urakawa. It is listed in the Michelin Guide. Because it was a day when the sea was rough, fishing was not carried out, and fresh fish was limited, but it was very delicious. We had a pleasant conversation with the chef .

I relaxed on the grass on the Pacific coast all day.

I went for a drive to Cape Erimo, the southernmost tip of Hokkaido.

It was windy this day. It was not so hot and I felt good.

This is a shrine on the cliff.
Kelps were dried here in the sun. In this photo they seem black needle but they are several meters long.
Kelp is a soup stock used in almost all Japanese cuisine. It is exposed to sunshine, its ingredients of delicious flavor.
